Here I am on my 6th day of vacation and I have to say that NCL America is one of the worst service companies that I have had to deal with in all of my cruising adventures. I certainly did not receive the top-notch service that I have received on other cruise lines. I sailed on the Pride of Hawaii (which will be decommissioned 6 months from today) and found the Freestyle cruising to be anything but free. We have had a great time with our friends Karen and Frosty, …

Ok, I’ve been a bit neglect about getting some comments in. We are now @ Airlie Beach. We made this stop instead of Cid Harbour because one of the two commercial tenders @ Cid Harbour was broken. We were not allowed to use the ships tenders at this location, so getting all of the passengers on and off the boat would be impossible.
The town is a nice town .. Kind of like a small monterrey only a lot hotter. It was probably around 95 degrees while …

Well, I must say that last night was the BEST New Years Party that I have ever been to. Our “house band” Odysea was the featured band in the Atrium. We started the festivities @ 6pm when we went to dinner. It continued on into the early hours of the morning with non stop fun dancing the night away.
Also, for all of you Californians, we celebrated 2006 at 6:30am PST. Its a wonderful day here on the ocean as we head toward Cairns. You …

Hi all!
Yes, I really am on the cruise. We are having a fabulous time! We have
met some wonderful people and have seen some interesting places. The
Pattaya Elephant Village was amazing! We bought the DVD of out trek and
cannot wait to share it with you.
As Doug said, Ho Chi Minh City was very interesting. I had bought Haley
a book about the Vietnam War (called the American War in Vietnam) and we
learned a lot of history prior to arriving in HCM City. Our wonderful
guide also told …

On December 27th, we crossed the Equator and entered the Southern
Hemisphere. On our approach, we heard the following from the Captain:
We are going to cross the equator at 10:58am. Make sure that you are
holding onto something as there may be a slight bump. Also, be on the
lookout for the orange buoys which mark the Equator. Please make sure
you wear plenty of sun screen as the UV rays that come down on the
Equator are extra strong.
It was quite amusing to everyone on board. Later, we made …

Today we stopped at Kemaman Malaysia. This stop was made instead of our original stop in Bali Indonesia (due to the nightclub bombings). We didn’t spend much time in town, but instead made a quick run in to see what it looks like and to say that we were here. The country had some similarities Vietnam, but it was clear that there was more money here. Tracey bought a lot of things for $40, including a couple of knock-off watches.
We begin our 4-day sea trek in …
